Special Key Functions

 

Status Bar

The Status Bar is displayed at the top of the screen on all Main pages.

Multiple settings and operational icons may appear on the Status Bar while using the Rino:

Batteries fully charged
Batteries ½ discharged
Batteries empty
Using external power
Radio receiving signal (Rx)
Radio transmitting signal (Tx)
Backlight on
Radio on
Location sharing ready
Keylock enabled
Alarm clock on
GPS position ready
GPS position not ready

 

Pages

Press and release the Page Button (F) to loop through the main display pages.

Radio

The Radio page provides the user interface for FRS and GMRS radio operations.

The Rino will communicate with 3rd party FRS/GMRS radios using standard FRS/GMRS frequencies.

Many unique features and functions are only available when communicating with other Rino radios.

Use the Radio page to control and setup the radio, view current settings, and see informational graphics of the units operation.

 



Map

The Map page displays your present position and direction of movement using a triangular 'Position Icon' that is centered on the map.

The map provides a picture of where you are, where you are going (path to destination), where you have been (track log), waypoint names and symbols and other map information.

Press Zoom/Map (H) button to open Zoom controls then use Thumb Stick (I) ▲▼to change the map scale as desired, and ◄►to exit.

To display the Map alone, use the Thumb Stick (I) to select the Options Menu, then select Show... > Map Only.

To display the Contact Bar with the Map, use the Thumb Stick (I) to select the Options Menu, then select Show... > Contact Bar.

To display Data Fields with the Map, use the Thumb Stick (I) to select the Options Menu, then select Show... > Data Fields.

To change the data fields, use the Thumb Stick (I) to highlight the desired Data Field, then press In to view and select from available data fields.

 

 

Navigation

The Navigation page provides active guidance with a rotating Compass Ring that shows your course while moving and a Bearing Pointer to your destination.

When moving without a destination selected, the upper data field displays your moving direction and speed.

When moving with a destination selected (navigating), the upper data field displays the name of the destination waypoint.

To change any data field, use the Thumb Stick (I) to highlight the desired Data Field, then press In to view and select from available data fields.

 

 

Trip Computer

The Trip Computer page can display two (big numbers) or seven (small numbers) different types of navigation data.

Each data field is user configurable.

To change data fields, use the Thumb Stick (I) to highlight the desired Data Field, then press In to view and select from available data fields:

  1. Bearing - the Compass direction from you current location to a destination.
  2. Course - the Compass direction from your starting location to a destination.
  3. Current Destination - the Next waypoint on your route.
  4. Current Distance - the Remaining distance to your next waypoint.
  5. Current ETA - the Estimate time of day you will arrive at your next waypoint.
  6. Current ETE - the Estimated time needed to arrive at the next waypoint on your route.
  7. Elevation - the Height above or below sea level.
  8. Final Destination - the Last waypoint on your route.
  9. Final Distance - the Remaining distance to your final destination.
  10. Final ETA -  the Estimated time of day you will arrive at your final destination.
  11. Final ETE - the Estimated time needed to arrive at your final destination.
  12. GPS Accuracy - the Current accuracy of your GPS determined location.
  13. Heading - your Moving direction.
  14. Location (lat/lon) - Current GPS position. (Trip Computer Only)
  15. Location (selected) - Displays the current position in the selected position format. (Trip Computer Only)
  16. Maximum Speed - the Maximum speed recorded since last Trip Computer reset.
  17. Moving Avg Speed - the Average speed while moving since last Trip Computer reset.
  18. Odometer - the Total distance traveled for all trips.
  19. Off Course - the Distance left or right you are from the original course (path of travel).
  20. Overall Avg Speed - the Average speed while moving and stopped since last Trip Computer reset.
  21. Pointer - Indicates direction to next destination.
  22. Speed - How fast you are moving.
  23. Sunrise - the Time of sunrise at your current location.
  24. Sunset - the Time of sunset at your current location.
  25. Time of Day - the Time for the selected time zone.
  26. To Course - the Compass direction you must travel to get back to original course.
  27. Trip Odometer - Total distance traveled since last reset.
  28. Trip Time - Moving - the Total time moving since last Trip Computer reset.
  29. Trip Time - Stopped - the Total time stopped since last Trip Computer reset.
  30. Trip Time - Total - the Total time tracking since last Trip Computer reset.
  31. Turn - the Angle difference (in degrees) between the bearing to your destination and your current line of travel. "L" means turn left, "R" means turn right.
  32. Velocity Made Good - the Speed at which you are closing on a destination along a desired course.
  33. Vertical Speed - Your rate of altitude gain/loss over time.

 

Main Menu

The Main Menu page provides access to advanced features and settings.

Move the Thumb Stick (I) to highlight the desired menu selection.
